When the weather is cold, there is nothing like lighting a fireplace or a wood-burning stove, hearing the wood crackle and feeling the cosiness spread.
But who ever stops to think about whether Aduro are having a cosy time? Aduro, that is, who produce and deliver Danish-designed wood-burning stoves of the highest quality.
Who ever thinks about whether they are warm enough, and whether they also have time to sit and enjoy their own product?
Well, so it is not a lie: we do.
Here at Connectify we have been thinking quite a lot about Aduro lately – about how we could spread the cosiness in their business and light a fire in their efficiency stove. We took on the task at Aduro’s own invitation, and we gladly accepted the challenge. Read more about the project, the result and your own options below.
What was the problem?
Aduro came to Connectify for the same reason most others do. Because their IT is too heavy to pull, because manual processes take up too much space, and because the whole team spends far too long staring into the IT systems.
Aduro’s e-commerce is built with Magento 2. Magento 2 requires more know-how to run day to day than, for example, a Shopify solution does. Fear not, though, because a Magento 2 shop has almost free rein when it comes to customisation.
The problem can often be that, because of the heavier operation, far too much time and money quickly evaporates into the system. The fact that integrations and automation are also harder to establish in Magento 2 does not make things much easier. Aduro has set up their Magento 2 to talk to 365 Business Central as their ERP system.
Luckily for Aduro, Connectify is close to being the Danish champion in Magento 2 and BC integrations. Let the games begin.
Did they have a cosy time?
Let us just say that since we moved in and started working with Aduro, the cosiness has spread – in IT terms, that is. Aduro has many irons in the fire at once. They handle several different tasks and are in constant communication with suppliers. Among other things, they sell complete stoves, spare parts and accessories.
That sort of thing requires an overview, and that overview is exactly what our integrations have helped create. The integrations have helped automate several stock processes, make data flow calmly and safely between the different systems, and give the different people in charge a far better overview.
The overview is essential. A missing overview can cost you a lot of money. An accurate and reliable overview, on the other hand, can earn you a lot. Just imagine it. If your stock system can proactively tell your customer how much is in stock, whether it is sold out, and when it will be back in stock, as well as recommend similar and related products.
An automatic overview that even helps increase revenue and gives your employees less stress in their working day. As mentioned, Magento 2 is a heavy platform, but with tailored integrations you do not have to do the lifting yourself.
Of course we also made sure that Aduro’s ERP system – Business Central – was hitting all the right notes. That stock status, finance, supply chain and the whole works ran as automatically and smoothly as possible.
Where data flows, money goes. When the entire journey from start to customer works, your integrations make sure that processes are optimised, made faster and more automatic. That means you save large amounts of both time and money on serving each customer. It makes sense day to day. Happy customers, happy employees, happy management and really good communication across the board.
How did we do it?
As we always start out, we asked Aduro everything we could think of.
Qualitative questions are always part of the groundwork and help ensure a result that everyone is happy with. Without those questions we would have no idea how to do our work best. We needed Aduro to tell us.
The solution is then developed, which usually takes somewhere between 1 and 2 months. Once everything has been developed according to the customer’s wishes and needs, we begin the final tests.
This is where we catch small errors that could otherwise have been expensive if everything had been let loose in the real world. Not acceptable. We test first, and preferably one more time after that. Finally, Aduro got their integrations in hand, ready to use. Aduro is still on a subscription solution that even small e-commerce businesses can afford. Still free support and no unpleasant extra fees.
Are you ready to get cosy?
Aduro certainly let the cosiness in. And the good news is that they are not a special case at all. Do you have an e-commerce business? Do you have an ERP system?
Then the chances that you can scale your systems and revenue and lower your cost per order are very good.

Arcane Tinmen
Arcane Tinmen sells gaming accessories to distributors worldwide, but there was no customer portal that could talk to their ERP. With an integration between the B2B portal and the ERP, the distributors can now restock 100+ order lines across several locations themselves – and after three months, 95 per cent of all orders came through the portal.
